Vintage Antique? 1 Quart (32 oz) Cobalt Blue Glass Measuring Cup Pitcher  ***   This is a really nice old cobalt blue heavy glass measuring pitcher. In raised lettering, there are many words/measurements/weights embossed in the thick glass: "1 Pound Butter Makes 1 Pint", "1 Pound Sugar Makes 1 Pint" and "Good Milk Contains 10% Cream." There are measurements in gills and pints, ounces and pounds, coffee cups and 'T' cups. The bottom of the pitcher bears an impressed starburst pattern. All in all, it is a very striking piece and would be addition to any cobalt glassware collection. There are a lot of 'characteristics' in this glass - lots of bubbles captured in the glass of the pitcher and in the handle, and lots of 'lines' which you would think at first were cracks but are actually embedded in the glass. The rim around the top of the pitcher is imperfect - uneven to the touch. I know the pitchers appear to show this area as rough/chipped, but I can run my finger around the rim and there are no areas where I feel that I would cut myself. You can see seams in the glass. The pitcher measures about 8 1/2" tall at the front of the pitcher, about 4 1/2" in diameter at the top of the pitcher, and weighs 2 lbs., 6 oz. We do believe this is a very old piece; we have tried researching it, but haven't come up with the manufacturer. Please examine all photos as they are part of the description.
